Gender-Affirming Care
At Solace Psychiatry & Wellness, gender-affirming care is more than a service—it’s a commitment to safety, dignity, and respect. Jessica provides inclusive and trauma-informed psychiatric care to trans and non-binary individuals across Oklahoma. Whether you’re just beginning your gender journey or have been out for years, you’re welcome here.

Affirming, Not Gatekeeping
This is a space where you don’t have to justify who you are. We believe that every person deserves to access affirming mental health care without unnecessary barriers, judgment, or pathologizing language. You will never be asked to prove your gender, present a certain way, or share more than you’re comfortable with. Your identity is valid—and your care should reflect that.
We provide support for people who are: - Seeking hormone replacement therapy (HRT) - Looking for safe medication management during medical transition - Exploring gender identity and needing emotional support - Searching for LGBTQ+ affirming psychiatric care for anxiety, depression, or other mental health needs - Needing letters or documentation to access gender-affirming procedures (when appropriate)
Whether you’re taking steps toward medical transition or not, your needs will be met with compassion and clinical expertise.
Services Offered
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) with Suboxone
We offer a range of psychiatric services for trans and non-binary patients, including:
Hormone therapy support: Prescribing and monitoring testosterone or estrogen (and supportive meds) with regular labs
Psychiatric medication management: Especially for patients with co-occurring conditions like depression, anxiety, ADHD, or PTSD
Letters of support for surgeries or legal documentation, if required (based on WPATH standards)
Resource referrals for gender-affirming supplies, local support groups, affirming therapists, and community clinics
We also provide a gender-affirming resource guide that includes links to trusted places to access binders, packers, gaffs, and more. We are happy to email this after intake.
We provide Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), a science-backed approach to recovery that combines medications with supportive care. One of the primary tools we use is buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone), which helps reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms for people with opioid use disorder.
Suboxone can be life-changing. It allows many patients to stop using opioids without going through agonizing withdrawal. It also provides stability, so you can focus on healing, rebuilding your life, and reconnecting with your goals.
Other MAT options may also be discussed depending on your history, current substance use, and treatment plan. We will take time to explain all options in plain language and partner with you to make decisions that align with your values.
Flexible, Respectful Follow-Up Care
Follow-up appointments for gender-affirming care are designed to be flexible and respectful of your time and goals. Hormone-related visits typically include labs every 3–6 months to ensure safety and monitor dosage. We will discuss your goals and how often you’d like to check in—there’s no rigid schedule unless you want one.
If you’re also receiving psychiatric medication, those appointments may be combined or kept separate depending on your preferences.
You Set the Pace
Not every person who seeks gender-affirming care wants hormones, and not everyone who wants hormones is ready to start right away. We honor that. Your care plan is built around your needs, not a checklist. She will meet you where you are—emotionally, medically, and logistically.
You can expect:
Clear, non-judgmental communication
No pressure to share trauma or personal details you’re not ready to discuss
Support whether you want HRT, medication, or just a safe place to talk about what you’re feeling.
A Safe Space in Norman, Moore, and OKC
If you’ve been searching for gender-affirming psychiatric care in Oklahoma, you’re not alone. Many patients come to Solace Psychiatry & Wellness because they’ve had trouble finding providers who truly understand the LGBTQ+ experience—or who don’t treat them like a diagnosis.
Our office is built to feel like a place where you can breathe. We see you as a whole person—not just a patient or a label. Our practice is designed to be a safe space for queer and trans Oklahomans who are navigating a challenging healthcare system.
We are experienced in trauma-informed care, and work intentionally to create emotional safety in every session. If you’ve experienced medical harm, misgendering, or discrimination in healthcare, know that your story will be held with respect and care.
Support Beyond Medication
While medication can be an important part of affirming care, we also connect patients with broader resources that support emotional wellbeing and community connection. This includes referrals to affirming therapists, support groups, peer networks, and clinics offering complementary services.
Many patients appreciate our balance of evidence-based medicine with advocacy, warmth, and a real-world understanding of what it’s like to navigate gender identity in Oklahoma.
Your Identity, Your Timeline
Some people are still figuring things out. Some are quietly transitioning. Some are loud and proud. Some are just trying to survive. Wherever you are in your journey, you deserve care that supports you—without conditions or assumptions.
There is no right way to be trans. No right time to start hormones. No wrong way to feel. We are here to provide expert support, steady presence, and respectful care regardless of how you identify or what decisions you make about your body.
